Young Rewired State 2011 - Show and Tell

The Show and Tell presentations event is the finalé of the Young Rewired State summer hack week.

On the final day, nearly 100 young developers who have been coding all week using government data, to create apps, websites and widgets, compete for a variety of prizes. The event is a celebration of young developer talent in the UK and is indeed the only network of young developers.

All participants in the event — the young people, their mentors, their hosts — will present the fruits of their labours, talking about their hacks, and showing what they’ve made & learned during the week, to an audience including their parents/guardians, and featuring representatives of the press, politics, civil service, civil society, geeks, and ordinary folks.

The event will be taking place at Microsoft’s Victoria offices, on the afternoon of Friday 5th August.

  • Wish the Government would do this (concept)
  • Most likely to annoy a Government CIO – CIO council award (code or concept)

Rewired State

Rewired State take a number of the UK’s most talented developers — we recommend no fewer than 10 and have run events with more than 100 — put them all in one big room with plenty of elastictrickery, internet, and coffee as they thrash out digital solutions to anything you choose to throw in their direction. At the end of the hack, this powerhouse of talent present a number of prototype applications/websites/widgets/visualisations that demonstrate a range of solutions.
